Giving Golfers What They Want

golf-cartoonGolfers comes in all shapes, sizes, ages and genders, but for those of us who are passionate about the game we love, we know that regardless of our differences, there is one thing we all have in common – we want to get better. Golf isn’t a game to us – it’s a way of life.

We’ll do whatever it takes to slice a point off our handicap whether it’s through equipment changes, lessons, golf gadgets, GPS apps, pro tips, academy golf on TV or scouring golf forums and social media for the next secret elixir that will help us play our best round ever. And as soon as we achieve that milestone, we set the bar even higher.

Non-golfers don’t understand us, but we don’t care. You’ll have to drag us out of bed to get ready for work at 9 AM, but we don’t need an alarm clock to make a 6 AM tee time.

We’re fanatics and proud of it!

Well, the Striker team is no different. The company was founded by two avid golfers who wanted a better GPS app for themselves, their friends, their buddy trips and the tournaments in which they play.

Striker Golf GPS for iOS and Android phones was launched as beta in August 2013 and has been downloaded thousands of times by golfers looking for something better than the status quo.

Needing no other motivation, all of us at Striker strive on a daily basis to improve the app based on feedback from our users. And although we love reading all the compliments we receive on the accuracy and speed of the GPS, battery savings, intuitive UI, superior graphics, comprehensive scorecard, fun social features and easy-to-use stat tracking, what we really enjoy is learning what we need to do to improve Striker Golf GPS for you.

Fortunately many of you are telling us exactly that and we want you to know that every suggestion we receive from you is reviewed carefully by the product management team for inclusion in a future revisions. In fact many of our recent enhancements have been added based entirely on your recommendations.

You asked for these and now you’ve got them…

  • Show the score on the GPS map screen
  • Have the option of naming your “game” in the app or not
  • Display your last scorecard on your profile page
  • Add Scramble to the list of games on the scorecard

And here are a couple of new ones we are working on right now just because you asked…

  • Distance tracker to help with club selection
  • Hide stats for those not interested in keeping them.

So don’t stop now. Please keep telling us what you want in the app everywhere you find us – here on our blog, on our support page or on Twitter or Facebook. We really do want to hear from you.

Because it’s not our success that matters – it’s yours!
